Life is pretty ironic sometimes… I am sitting here listening to the sound of rain while I write a review on sunscreen products.
It seems as though autumn is setting in and we probably only have a few more glorious days of sunshine left in the Mother City. I’m not much of a winter person, decadent hot drinks and stylish boots are the only wintery things that appeal to me. Which is why I’ll be making the most of the last few days of summer with Piz Buin suncare.
Piz Buin are known for their extensive range of high-quality sun products that cater for a variety of needs. Whether you want to get your tan on safely or protect your sensitive skin with a high factor SPF, Piz Buin will have the right product for the job.
1. Piz Buin Tan & Protect Tan Accelerating Oil Spray SPF15 (R260)
As you can see from the bottle, this has been my go-to product in the range. I used this throughout summer whenever I felt like sitting in the sun and attempting to bronze my English rose skin. The formula is light and non-sticky, and contains Melitan which speeds up the skin’s tanning process.
2. Piz Buin Wet Skin Transparent Sun Spray SPF30 (R253)
My boyfriend tested this one out for me while surfing. He reported back that it absorbs quickly into both dry and wet skin. The protection was high enough to shield his skin from direct sun rays as well as the sun’s glare off the ocean. This product is extra water resistant, making it perfect to spritz on directly before and after a refreshing dip in the pool.
3. Piz Buin Active Long Lasting Spray SPF20 (R234)
Specially formulated for and tested on athletes, this water- and sweat-proof spray offers medium UVA and UVB protection. I like that when sprayed out of the high-pressure aerosol can, it feels cooling on my skin. It can also be used on the face by spraying a small amount into the hands and smoothing over the face.
4. Piz Buin Allergy Spray SPF50+ (R224.95)
This is a beach bag must-have for anyone with sensitive skin that burns and peels easily. It has been developed with dermatologists to ensure that skin is left feeling moisturised and soothed. It contains an antioxidant called Calmanelle, which makes the skin more resilient against UV rays and more tolerant of the sun in general.
5. Piz Bun In Sun Aloe Vera Extra Care Sun Lipstick SPF20 (R41.95)
Don’t forget about your lips, they need sun protection too! This little gem is small enough to slip into a pocket or handbag and works to protect your pout from the sun. It smells lovely and the aloe vera formula soothes dry lips.
Here’s to long, sun-protected walks on the Promenade!
